Best 3D printers are not only the professional and very costly devices. XYZprinting da Vinci mini Maker from a well-known Taiwanese company is a perfect example of that. First of all we notice the minute shape of the device, which is a rarity as far as 3D printers go. The equipment is definitely space adjustable and it will fit into even small rooms, so it won’t take up a lot of space in the house. The word ‘mini’ in the name may suggest it’s designated just for children, but it’s very misleading. Admittedly, the device is ideal for printing in 3D technology and for testing various options, but it will also come handy for adult beginners. Which obviously doesn’t mean that with this model you can’t make decent quality prints. The name ‘da Vinci’ surely must oblige.

Appearance and basic functions

XYZprinting da Vinci mini Maker stands out with its vibrant orange color, which at the first sight makes you think of dynamic work. The device has open built and it looks a bit like a big stamp. The cost of the printer is about 200 USD. For this price we get a device with autocalibration, pretty large working area and wireless connection, which at the cheap cost is a really respectable equipment. It’s affordable for all average users. It can be used for uncomplicated works, and children can treat it as one of scientific aids. For instance, it does great for learning about solids. Also the school computer classrooms should be interested in this device. It’s pretty silent and easy to use. As many other models, it can work right after pulling out of the box, because it doesn’t require arduous assembling and difficult installations. It will provide a lot of thrill and fun to the youngest, at the same time retaining the educational value. It will fit on a desk or bookshelf, and it’s portable as well, because it doesn’t weigh more than 10 kg. This model offers four pace modes: fine, std, speed and ultra fast. It must be noted, though, that by increasing the pace of work we can considerably lose in terms of quality.
Drawbacks of XYZprinting da Vinci mini Maker

Purchasing a printer at such a bargain price, we mustn’t have high expectations, but it’s worth to be aware of a few facts. First of all, this model isn’t fitted with a heated table. In practice it means we can use only PLA filament. And the manufacturer recommends using only original material, whose price isn’t a delight. So it may turn out that what we saved at the purchase of printer will be lost each time when we refill the filament. We can, obviously, ignore the literal manufacturer’s recommendations. It’s a matter of each user’s choice. Despite this slight inconvenience, users of this simple and easy-to-use printer are satisfied and readily recommend it to others.
